Our history
St. Andrew Parish Kwa Vonza was erected on 5/5/2019.
The parish began with 14 stations. These are Kwa Vonza, Tanganyika, Kalimbevo, Manzi Itumo, Syokithumbi, Kithuiani, Kitukuni, South Eastern Kenya University, Kenyatta University Kitui Campus, Mithiikwani, Kwa Silu, Kalima,Masaani and Nyumbani Village.
Since its opening the parish has opened three more stations. These are :St. Boniface Ndwila, St. Bakhita Kiliko, and St. Monica Ngamyone.
The parish has parochial college : St. Andrew College of Professionals. The college that is in the process of registration offers computer packages and motor driving school.
The current priests working at the parish are Fr. Francis Ngungu Ndolo , the parish priest since the opening of the parish, Fr. Charles Kyalo, the assistant parish priest, and Fr. Nicholas Ngulutu , the chaplain South Eastern Kenya University.
The Parish Executive Council is composed of the following: Parish moderator :Angeline Kyalo,Vice moderator: Onesmus Mbuvi Secretary: Maurice Makau, Vice: Onesmus Munyao, Treasurer: Judy Maithya, CWA : Pauline Titus, CMA : John Musyoka, PMC: Dominic Kaluma, Youth: Mercy Mboya, Climak: Francis Kiathe.
The parish now is 5 years and two months old, with a population of 4,930 Catholics spread in the 17 outstations.
